# Release Notes - September 2025

As we close Q3, Hivel’s been busy refining the details to make your day smoother. Say hello to faster integrations, cleaner data, and sharper visibility across teams!

This round of updates focuses on control, clarity, and helping you move into Q4 with momentum.

### A Smarter GitHub Integration

We’ve redesigned how Hivel connects with GitHub to give your org more flexibility and control. Admins can now choose between:

* **OAuth**, for full workspace access.
* **GitHub App**, for tighter control over selected repositories.

You can switch between the two anytime, and **new users will see OAuth as the default** setup, with the App mentioned under **Advanced Options**.

### Upgraded Teams & Goals Pages

We’ve officially moved to the upgraded Teams and Goals experience.

* Teams and Users now have dedicated pages, giving you clearer visibility and the ability to drill down from team → sub-team.

* Goals PRO is now the default for new users, offering a more focused view for setting objectives and tracking outcomes.

The older Goals view will be deprecated within this week.

### Labels - Organize Beyond Teams

Introducing **Labels**, a new way to tag and organize users beyond just team structures.

Add labels like Location, Skill Proficiency, or Product Line, and use them to filter dashboards and reports for more flexible insights.

### Repo Exclusion – Focus on What Matters

You can now **exclude repositories directly from Hivel** (up to ten per organization).

All related commits and PRs will automatically be excluded from your analytics, keeping your reports focused on active, relevant work.

### Smarter PR Auto-Exclusions

You can now auto-exclude PRs based on **Cycle Time**, **PR Size**, or **Keyword Patterns**, in addition to the existing branch and commit filters.

All exclusion settings now live under *Configuration → Exclusions*, where you can manage them for both orgs and teams.

## 🔎 Minor Upgrades to Make Navigation Easier

### Easier Metric Exploration

**Click on any metric chart from your Cockpit board**, and you’ll land on a detailed view of that metric’s trends.

Now, you can:

* **Quickly switch metrics:** From the top of the metric detail page, you can now search and switch to any other metric instantly - no need to head back to the dashboard.
* **View deeper drill-downs:** From the trend chart, you can now open commits and PRs directly for weekly and monthly date ranges (previously only available for daily).

### Smoother Navigation Across Hivel

**Clicking on the Hivel logo** now takes you exactly where you expect — your personal default page, your admin’s org default, or your dashboards.

It’s a small update, but it makes getting around a little simpler every time.

## :coffee: Wrapping Up September

We’re ending Q3 with updates curated for better performance, flexibility, and visibility. Expect even more depth around AI-driven insights and engineering impact during the last leg of the year.

Stepping into the Q4 requires a mix of focus and balance. Take a breather, stretch, and gear up for the next chapter. The best results come when effort meets a little downtime! 😉

Here's to a productive and well-paced quarter! 🍻
